I put small items (SD cards, etc) in the trunks of the model cars on my desk. That way, they don't get lost.
![]() 10/16/2014 at 16:32 |

Why I never thought of doing this???
![]() 10/16/2014 at 16:34 |

No, but that is a great idea.
![]() 10/16/2014 at 16:34 |

I don't know! The only draw back is the cars on my desk are 1/32 scale, and only the cayenne and ML have opening trunks.

And now another place to look when i finish my computer forensic degree for places where people may store a data storage device.
![]() 10/16/2014 at 16:36 |

I would never. That relative weight addition can really destroy the handling and performance.
![]() 10/16/2014 at 16:37 |

No because then I would forget they were there and they would then be lost forever

"look in the tunk"

One time I stored a piece of gum in the trunk of a model Enzo I owned. It's still there, seven years later.
... the trunk is really hard to open.

I guess you can't leaf it in the Nissan, then...
...I'll show myself out, now.

I thought I'd lost the key to my windows for about a month until I remembered they were in the boot of my model AC Cobra.

Thir is true, but SUVs aren't meant for that.

Haha, you would not beleaf how cliche that is.

Don't disrespect the Cayenne like that!

I use hotwheels pickup trucks to hold screw when I take apart electronics sometimes
![]() 10/16/2014 at 16:48 |

Not until today...what a great idea.

I have a 1:6 scale (freaking huge) PT Cruiser on my desk. I've stored my phone, car keys, other model cars, and some stationery inside of it all at once.
Though, usually I just keep sticky notes and occasionally my phone in its boot.

Clock?
![]() 10/16/2014 at 17:07 |

Great idea!
But... have a Ferrari 458 and a March Formula 1 on my desk... no trunks!

You're not the only one. I currently have a couple of Euros in the frunk of my 1/18 baby blue Gallardo Spyder and Colombian Peso bills in the trunks of my grey E Type Roadster (Series 1, 3.8 I6) and my silver 300SL Gullwing.
![]() 10/16/2014 at 17:21 |

I bought a drawer that fills in a spare drive bay in my computer. That's where the SD cards and flash drives go.
![]() 10/16/2014 at 17:22 |

Pickup models are better, IMHO - been there, done that.
![]() 10/16/2014 at 17:27 |

None of trunks open. And there's no room in the Transformer's trunk, it's full of calves.
![]() 10/16/2014 at 17:32 |

I kept the phone number of the guy who's DeLorean I wanted to buy in the frunk of my 1:18 delorean. I used to fold up $ and hide it in my cars too

RX-8

When I was a lad, I always had stuff stashed in the cargo bay of my 1/72 scale space shuttle.

Sweet. I rather liked the Binaltech/Alternators line. I have Grimlock and Wheeljack ('05 Mustangs), Hound (Wrangler Sport) and Skids (Scion xB).

No I don't. But this is actually a good idea. If I can keep my 2 year-old from taking them from the desk that is!

This is adorable and I love it. Thanks for giving me a great excuse to buy a toy truck!
![]() 10/17/2014 at 08:53 |

Yes. It is.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 08:54 |

But would you rather have a Ford F-150 on your desk or a Porsche Cayenne?
![]() 10/17/2014 at 08:55 |
|
This could happen.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 08:56 |

That's good, except my computer doesn't have an extra drive.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 08:57 |

It's good, unless your forget I guess.

Great collection of cars! Which is your favorite?
![]() 10/17/2014 at 08:58 |

Oh my gosh, do you have a picture of it?!
![]() 10/17/2014 at 08:59 |

Nice, I have the same car. Mine is black and a metallic Orange though.

This is a valid point, however, when the pickup is one of these, it's at least interesting.
(I need dis)
(I've just got a Ford Ranger now)

Very true. This is very true.

I have the hot rod '61 version of that model I'm busy making into a facsimile of my actual '63. It's just not done.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 09:15 |

that's cool, where'd you get that?
![]() 10/17/2014 at 09:17 |
|
True, but the first gen Cayenne, unless GTS looked high and ungainly.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 10:10 |

For reference: The other PT is 1:34 scale. And I work in a call centre...And my phone takes awful pictures inside this building (and really only in this building) for some reason...
![]() 10/17/2014 at 10:13 |

That's awesome.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 11:18 |

No, like, it's where the DVD drive goes.
![]() 10/17/2014 at 17:11 |

My blue Matchbox Mazda 2 I'd have to say that of the three mentioned above, the 300SL is my favorite by a teeny tiny margin. Of ALL the cars I currently have on my desk, my white 1/43 Bburago Renault 4 GTL that I bought in Colombia over the summer wins hands down.
![]() 10/18/2014 at 19:21 |

Why I never thought of that. I should hide some money in my Lexus GS trunk. It's big :)
![]() 10/19/2014 at 00:20 |

that' cool, where did you find it?
![]() 10/19/2014 at 00:50 |

Haha, I put my USB drive in my Town Car Signature Limo's cavernous trunk. I never really thought about it, just shoved it in there when I didn't have anywhere better to put it.

I got mine from Amazon , but they sell them on NewEgg too.

I keep the key to the supply cabinet under a plastic Dalek that shouts "EXTERMINATE" when anyone comes near it.
Yeah, my cow-orkers think I'm weird too.

Think Geek a few years back. I'm not sure they sell it anymore.
![]() 10/19/2014 at 09:35 |

Do you mean the frunk?
![]() 10/19/2014 at 10:52 |

thanks, it's very subtle and I must have...
![]() 10/21/2014 at 13:09 |

On one hand, model car with other model cars inside. On the other, PT Cruiser.

Ironically, it's actually a massive R/C car. It was a gift from a co-worker that knows I love cars. I hate driving a PT, but don't mind a diecast and a giganto R/C version.
Shame, New Bright doesn't make R/Cs how they used to. I remember they used to make a 1:6 Hummer as well. Had full working lights (even side markers and such), horn, and everything.
